Philosophy

Nutrition allows for preventative care and improved lifestyle changes. The experience with poor nutrition effected the nose and ears of American Indians led to the need for cessation of cow's milk products and wheat, which caused Serous Otitis Media (SOM). There was no need for the most common surgical procedure in her pediatric patients: PET insertion. While nutrition can also be used, she found, to ameliorate chronic sinusitis and asthma and diminish the size of tonsils, it can not prevent all surgeries. However the speed of wound healing is best with proper preoperative nutritional intake.
